The morning after this video was taken, cleanup from the previous night of debauchery was undertaken. A big messy bowl of berries was on the table. Nicky dumped the pile into the chicken pen.
When I was a kid, only seeing farm animals in books and cartoons, I thought chickens only liked grains and bugs. So not true. They seem to love fruit of all kinds. A feeding frenzy did ensue upon the blackberries and raspberries.
After cleanup, we lounged about with snacks and coffee. We noticed that the chickens seemed...concerned. About something very important. Many of them gathered behind the coop and would not stop talking. We investigated along the fence and behind the coop, but could not find any predator or other creature, or anything else that should attract such attention. Suddenly, Nicky jumped up. "The berries!" she exclaimed. The berries, it was not remembered until this moment, had been used to infuse vodka the night before.
The chickens were drunk!
I wish I had something pithy or clever to say about it, but I don't. The chickens were acting goofy because we accidentally got them drunk. We laughed a lot. The end.
